Amazon lands Epix film deal

Amazon has just announced a Web licensing deal that has enables it to boast it now offers movies from every major Hollywood studio.


Epix, the pay TV service, is giving Amazon's Prime Instant Video service access to such movies as "The Hunger Games," "Super 8" and "Thor."


The move was not unexpected. Epix had an exclusive Web licensing deal with Netflix but that agreement ran out in August. Epix is still on Netflix but the company didn't waste any time adding new distribution partners.
