Now that the iPhone 5 is official, the real fun can begin. Ensuring that you'll be one of the lucky few to have the latest iPhone in your hands at the end of launch weekend can be a challenge. So we'll be updating this page with the latest information surrounding the iPhone 5 launch, and how you can get your hands on it as soon as possible.
We will keep this post updated as retailers and carriers announce plans for the iPhone 5 launch on September 21.
Here's what we know so far:
- Preorders through Apple's online store begin Friday, September 14. While the start time wasn't clear at first, Wired has since confirmed Apple's preorders will begin at 12:01 a.m. PT. Bookmark store.apple.com right now, assuming you haven't already.
- Apple stores will open at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 21. Traditionally Apple customers have been able to reserve a new iPhone or iPad through the Apple Store app on an iOS device. It's unclear thus far if reservations will be available for the iPhone 5.
